엣지 다크모드 Naver PC dark mode settings A to Z, search results in Chrome and Edge

Naver was reorganized on May 17 last year. The biggest change has been made to the PC main. After moving the logo into the green dot, the content arrangement was changed to 3 rows considering multitasking. It is a change in UX and UI considered from various angles such as user efficiency and convenience.

The slogan is also that the PC screen also allows the convenience of mobile to permeate. However, the appearance of double placement of shortcuts is also eye-catching, probably because of excessive unification of experience. Anyway, with the change, there is a function that many people are looking for, so I think it is none other than the ‘Naver Dark Mode PC’ setting. Here’s how to do it in detail.

엣지 다크모드

#One. Even if you don’t use Whale, pretend at once on Naver PC main 엣지 다크모드

It became very easy. In fact, it wasn’t that there wasn’t a way until now. Anyone could enjoy web content with a ‘black background’ with just a few clicks of a button in ‘Whale’, a search browser introduced by Naver, as well as ‘Chrome’ itself. 윤과장의 소소한 일상 이야기

However, what you are curious about is not the external utilization plan. And it is highly likely that some of you have already found it by pressing and peeking around the changed screen. Because the setting button is located in a prominent place. But, for those of you who don’t know, here’s a detailed guide.

① Press the setting button floating at the bottom right of the main page. It’s iconified with a back to top button, so you won’t have a hard time finding it.

② If you press the button, the setting screen pops up. You can set the font size, screen style, and other features. We can select ‘Dark Mode’ in the screen style here.

③ For reference, light mode means the ‘white background’ we are familiar with. On the other hand, ‘device setting’ means to use the value set in the device in use. Therefore, under the assumption that there is no separate option set by default, the purpose can be achieved by simply pressing ‘Dark Mode’.

By the way Here comes the problem. You would have thought that with this setting alone, not only the PC main page but also the search result page would all be changed to ‘black background’. However, the current service is limited to the ‘main page’.

#2. How to change the search result page using chrome settings

In the popular direction, web browsers will use one of two things. However, in my case, since I use an Android smartphone, I will introduce how to set PC dark mode in ‘Chrome’ first. Let’s go right in without the need for long words.

① Turn on Chrome and click More in the upper right corner. After that, go to ‘Settings’ located third from the bottom.

② After clicking ‘Appearance’ located in the fifth of the left menu of the page, click ‘Theme’ in the first line, then ‘Open Chrome Web Store’.

③ As you scroll down, select the concept you want from the ‘Dark and Black Theme’ provided as the fourth item and click the ‘Add to Chrome’ button. In my case, I chose ‘Slinky Elegant’ with a high star rating. And if you set this up, you can’t dye the entire search result page black like the ‘Naver’ we looked at earlier.

④ From now on is important. Enter ‘chrome://flags’ in the address bar. After that, if you enter ‘dark’ in the search box at the top, the ‘Auto Dark Mode for Web Contents’ setting will be displayed in Experiments.

⑤ After changing the drop-down setting of the option to ‘Enabled’, click the ‘Relaunch’ button to answer the English query that pops up at the bottom right, the web browser will be restarted and the option will be applied. By doing this, the chrome dark mode setting is finished as we want.

#3. Edge dark mode settings are virtually the same

Thanks to the change in the perception of web browsers led by Chat GPT, ‘Bing’ has recently emerged. It seems that there are not a few people who choose ‘Edge’ again. So, I’m going to organize the dark mode settings in Microsoft Edge, which can be said to be the two mountain ranges. Of course, the method is almost the same.

① Turn on Microsoft Edge and click More in the upper right corner → ‘Settings’ located fourth from the bottom.

② If you click ‘Browser Display’ located in the third of the menu on the left of the page, you can see the ‘Dark’ option in the first line. Just click on it.

③ As with Chrome dark mode, additional settings are required. Enter ‘edge://flags’ in the address bar. After that, if you enter ‘dark’ in the search box at the top, the ‘Auto Dark Mode for Web Contents’ setting will be displayed.

④ The rest is the same. After changing the drop-down setting of the option to ‘Enabled’, which means enabled, click ‘Restart’ in the lower right corner and you are done.

So far, we have written Naver Dark Mode and looked at how to set PC dark mode using Chrome and Edge settings. For reference, ‘Whale’ or other browsers do not differ greatly. Regardless of which one you use, if you are browsing the web for a long time, we recommend that you activate the option to protect your eyesight.
