First of all, what I felt as soon as I started Office was the comfortable color of the dark mode that was finally applied. Also, the interface seems to have become simpler and visibility has improved. More precisely, basic functions such as new document, import, save, undo, redo, and print are organized as small icons under the toolbox, and it can be seen that the toolbox is mainly organized with functions used for document editing.

As a test, I pasted the previous postings in the pdf file into Hangul 2014 and Hangul 2022 respectively. Actually, I should have started preparing the script a few days ago, but in Hangul 2014, when I paste it like the picture attached above, a formal error such as line spacing appeared, so I was delaying it one by one. However, in this Hangul 2022, this format error is caught at once, so it can be seen that the readability is not bad even though the text is copied and pasted from a pdf file. Editing documents is actually important because of this miscellaneous convenience, so I was impressed by this meticulous update. 윤과장의 소소한 일상 이야기

However, since it was just scraped from the pdf, there are minor space character errors. The one I always use to catch these errors is the spelling checker. In fact, in the previous Hangul 2014, the accuracy was not high, but there were many cases where you had to double-check with other specialized tools. As it was updated after 8 years, I decided to put my hopes on the spell-checking AI of Hangul 2022.

Unlike the simplified UI, a more powerful inspection function

As you can see from the screenshot above, there was a bigger difference than expected in the spell check function. Although the interface has become rather simple, the understanding of the relationship between words and the meaning of words and sentences has become very advanced, and the AI has caught not only grammatical errors but also errors in semantic usage. Both spelling checkers performed spelling checks on the entire article, and while the 2014 version pointed out simple spacing errors, the 2022 version recommends semantically better words. As a result of running the spelling checker to the end, it was found that revision suggestions were made using the meaning and syntactic information of the entire text, rather than a one-dimensional approach as before. I really liked this part because I thought I wouldn’t have to double check the Korean spelling in the future.

In addition, there is another advantage if you use Hancom Docs and Hangul 2022, which are subscription-type services. Document viewing and editing on tablets and mobile phones based on the cloud service outlined above. To do this, first of all, you need to separately save the currently editing Korean file on the Hancom Docs server as shown in the screenshot above. After that, you can install Hancom Docs from the app store on your tablet or iPhone.

If you install Hancom Docs as above, you can log in with the ID you used to pay for or register Hancom Docs cloud service. In other words, sharing and editing documents through cloud services is possible only when you log in to Hancom Docs through the same ID on Mac and tablet.

You can see that the previously saved Hangul file has been uploaded through the cloud. One of the strengths of Hancom Docs is that it can be edited and viewed on a tablet or mobile phone without having to move files through the cloud service.

What’s more, you’re not limited to just editing documents saved on your Mac, you can create a new file entirely on your tablet and start working. In addition to Hangul 2022 files, various documents such as Hanword, Hancell, Hansho, and Hanform can be edited here.

Today, I reviewed Hangeul 2022 and Hancom Docs service, which were redesigned with more powerful performance and comfortable UI this time. As you can see in the post, you can see that various powerful functions have been updated that make it easier for most people in Korea, such as students, researchers, and public officials who need to use Hangul, to work more comfortably. In addition, unlike Hangul 2014, Hangeul 2022 and Hancom Docs have been converted to subscription-type services, so you can subscribe only for a short time when you need them, and then cancel your subscription whenever you don’t need Hangul. Considering that the previous Hangul 2014 license was about 60,000 won, this is a great advantage. More detailed information can be found on the Hancom Docs website at the link below.
